“I am a 4th year grad in ChemE and have been a union organizer for the past 3 years. As department coordinator throughout the union election campaign and contract fight, I built many connections throughout my department and focused on understanding people’s issues 1:1, especially safety issues in Building 66 and harassment issues. At the end of the contract fight, I also served as Bargaining Committee representative and helped steer us towards a credible strike threat that won us a historic contract. I am running for recording secretary on the BOLD slate because I have worked extensively on union communications in the past. Going forward, I believe that clear and informative communications paired with dense personal connections throughout our campus are crucial for high engagement to fight for grad worker rights and protections.”
